– to state without or before proof “They allege he stole their car

alleged /əˈlɛdʒd/
– stated or described to be such; presumed “He is the alleged thief

allegation /ˌælɪˈɡeɪʃən/ (noun)
– the act of alleging; an unproved statement or assertion, especially one in an accusation.
The allegation is that he stole their car
It’s an allegation; it might not be true
He made allegations of corruption in the company
